Lost in time

After watching the season finale of Lost, I've been reading every theory that I can.
I can't seem to wrap my head around what is really going on.
I've been patiently awaiting Erika's full write up over at http://longlivelocke.blogspot.com/
I can't wait to see what she thinks about the apparent end of the real John Locke and the anti-Jacob/Dark Shirt Guy's take over of Locke.

What got me really thinking about what might happen next season was Doc Jensen (http://www.ew.com/ew/package/0,,1550612,00.html)
Doc thinks that Jacob's touch will allow the Losties to retain their memories.
I would love to these things on 815: Jack trying to talk to Claire and her not remembering him, or Locke screaming at Jack for messing things up and him still being in a wheel chair, or Sawyer demanding that they all have to go "baaaack".

As much as I would love to see that, and I hope Doc is right, I just don't think that will happen.
I think Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hugo, Sayid, Miles and Julier will flash from 1977 to 2007.
Sayid will still be shot, and Juliet will be near death after the fall down the shaft.

I had been hoping for a teary reunion with Jack and Locke. Jack would cry and hug Locke, and tell him he was sorry. That Locke was right all along. Then they would finally team up to save the world.

However, unless Jacob resurrects Locke's dead body or they do go back in time to 815, it won't happen that way. It appears that once again Jack will have to face off with Locke. In some ways they will have switches places. Jack wants to follow his destiny while possessed Locke wants to kill the island god and prove that the Others were following a fake Wizard of Oz and the man behind the curtain isn't that powerful or great.

I just don't know how Damon and Carlton can tie up the whole series in so few episodes left.
I feel that the following things have to be resolved and might not be.
  • Claire. Is she dead? What happens to Aaron?
  • Christian. Was he evil? Was he possesed by the dark shirt guy?
  • Walt. Why was Walt special?
  • Desmond. Is the Island done with him?
  • Widmore. Is he working for the dark shirt guy, Jacob or does he just want to go back to the island?
  • Ms. Hawking. Why would she send her son to be shot by herself in the past?
  • Sun and Jin, what about their daughter? Will they be able to go back to get her, or will she be raised by Sun's father?
There are a ton of more unanswered questions that I know we'll never have answered.
I'm in the camp of wanting to know about Libby, but I've given up wanting to know more about her.

I just hope that Lost ends better than Battlestar Galactica. I loved that show, but the last half of the season seemed to just go everywhere. I had heard rumors that they were making it up as they went along. That would fit.

I know that Damon and Carlton have a plan, and while none of us will be 100% satisfied with the ended, I have faith that they'll leave us with a great ending. No "this was just a dream" or Jack waking up in a bamboo thicket. I hope for Jack, Hugo, and Sawyer to be hanging out at the beach joking around. With Kate going back to be around and watch Aaron grow up, Jin and Sun going back to take care of their daughter. Ben being banished from the Island and scheming to come back just like Widmore.
